BORONGAN CITY – Eastern Samar launched a three-day Tourism and Agri-Trade Fair on November 6, marking its 60th founding anniversary by showcasing local products from more than 70 micro and small enterprises.
The event, held at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, aims to boost local livelihoods and promote homegrown goods, reflecting the provincial government’s focus on agriculture and tourism as key economic drivers.
“The administration of Gov. RV Evardone is focused on two major sectors—agriculture and tourism—because these are the industries that will provide more livelihood opportunities,” said Board Member Atty. PJ Evardone, representing the governor.
Organized in partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry, the fair features local delicacies and handicrafts from 13 municipalities and Borongan City.
Officials said the event reinforces unity and economic empowerment in one of the Philippines’ fastest-growing provincial economies. — Vanguard News
