TACLOBAN CITY — A suspected drug pusher was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Tacloban City Police Office – City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) Thursday night, March 5, 2026, in Bañesville Fatima Village.
Police said the operation took place around 7:50 PM along Bougainvilla Street, Barangay 77, where an undercover operative acting as a poseur-buyer purchased a sachet of suspected shabu worth P3,500.
Authorities recovered 19 sachets of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, weighing around 190 grams, with an estimated street value of P1.29 million. Also seized were a sling bag and marked buy-bust money.
The suspect was identified as alias Melong, 35, a resident of the same barangay.
He is now under police custody and will face charges for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 (RA 9165).
Authorities said operations against illegal drugs in Tacloban City will continue.
