CATBALOGAN CITY — A 51-year-old motor cab driver tagged as a street-level individual (SLI) was arrested in a drug buy bust operation conducted before noon on April 17 in Barangay Minda, Gandara.
The suspect, identified by police as alias “Tako,” is a resident of the said barangay. He was apprehended at around 11:55 a.m. by joint operatives of the Gandara Municipal Police Station and the Samar Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.
The operation was led by Police Captain Jefferson P. Arellano of Gandara MPS, in coordination with PDEU-Samar headed by PMaj. Juan Carlos S. Recluta, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 8 (PDEA-8). The activity was conducted under the supervision of PCOL Arwin M. Tadeo, Samar Police Provincial Director.
Authorities said they recovered one sachet of suspected shabu sold to an undercover operative, along with three additional sachets believed to contain the illegal drug. A marked P500 bill used in the buy-bust operation was also seized.
The suspect is now under the custody of Gandara MPS and will face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165.
