CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar — A 33-year-old construction worker was found unresponsive at his residence in Purok 1, Brgy. Ibol, Catbalogan City, early Tuesday morning, May 6, and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital.
The victim, known only as “Jose,” was a married resident of the barangay.
According to the victim’s brother, the family was alerted to the incident around 4:00 a.m. by a neighbor. The victim was rushed to Samar Provincial Hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Initial reports indicated that a neighbor, identified as “Mario,” 40 years old, discovered the victim on the balcony after hearing their dog barking loudly.
Authorities mentioned that the victim had been drinking before the incident.
PLTCOL Norman Ala, Acting Chief of Police, has requested a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death as the investigation progresses.
