Tacloban City — The Land Bank of the Philippines launched its Cash-Lite Campus program at Leyte Normal University (LNU) in Tacloban City on September 17, giving students another way to make payments and manage their money online.

LANDBANK Branch Head Christopher Marco said the launch at LNU was the bank’s second Cash-Lite Campus rollout in Eastern Visayas. The first was held at the University of the Philippines campus in the region last August.

Marco said the program is open to college students who want to use digital banking for their daily school expenses and save part of their allowance.

Students aged 18 and above can apply on their own. Those below 18 must go to a LANDBANK branch with a parent or legal guardian, he said.

Students can use the account for payments within the campus, including purchases at the canteen and other school-related transactions.

Marco encouraged students to download the LANDBANK mobile banking app and register for an account.

Applicants may present a valid school ID or a birth certificate issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), subject to LANDBANK requirements.
