EASTERN SAMAR — The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has temporarily suspended all types of vessels and watercraft from operating within the area of responsibility of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Eastern Samar, effective immediately.

The suspension is a precautionary measure due to the hoisting of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 1 over the province of Eastern Samar by the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAGASA) as of 11:00 AM on January 14, 2026.
The PCG is advising all vessel operators and the public to refrain from sea travel until the TCWS is lifted and weather conditions improve. The safety of lives and vessels is the top priority of the PCG during this period.
The PCG will continue to monitor the weather situation and will issue further advisories as necessary. All are advised to stay tuned to PAGASA updates.
