TACLOBAN CITY — The City Government of Tacloban City will officially kick off its 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) with a Women’s Walk on March 6, from 5:00 am to 7:00 am.
Hedeliza Ramos from the City Population Office (CPO) led the press conference for the month-long celebration, reaffirming the local government’s commitment to gender and inclusive development.
The Women’s Walk on March 6 will mark the official start of the celebration, with the theme: “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society.” Participants will gather at 4:30 am and begin the walk at 5:00 a.m. along Magsaysay Boulevard, ending at the Tacloban City Astrodome.
Ramos stressed that the celebration aims to ensure women are active partners in development, not just beneficiaries of programs. She emphasized the importance of progress benefiting both women and men equally, promoting equal rights, opportunities, and participation in decision-making.
The City Government of Tacloban has released a poster detailing the activities lined up for March:
• March 6 – Women’s Walk (Kick-off activity)
• March 13 – Mega Job Fair (Tacloban City Astrodome)
• March 18 – Women’s Forum (Old CSWDO Building, Tacloban City)
• March 19 – HER Health, HER Month (Free Health and Wellness and Family Planning Services for Women l CEO Conference Room)
• March 25 to 26 – GAD Agenda (CEO Conference Room)
• March 27 – City Government Women’s Employees’ day (to be announced)
• March 27 – Women’s Shelter Anniversary (CSWDO – Women’s Shelter)
• March 28 – PICNIC and SUNDOWN (McArthur Park)
• March 29 – HEART4ART (Robinsons North)
Additionally, there will be events for Women with Disabilities Got Talent and Psychological First Aid Awareness, with the dates and venues to be announced later.
