CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar — A barangay councilor identified as a high-value individual was apprehended in a buy-bust operation carried out by authorities on the afternoon of April 25, 2026, in Barangay San Andres, Villareal, Samar.
The individual, known only by the alias “Queen,” aged 52, married, and residing in Purok 3 in the mentioned barangay, is also recognized as the proprietor of a local convenience store.
Law enforcement personnel from the Villareal Municipal Police Station, under the leadership of Police Captain Petronio F. Piangco III, led the operation in collaboration with the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Provincial Intelligence Unit, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 8. The operation was overseen by Police Colonel Arwin M. Tadeo, Assistant Provincial Director of the Samar Police Provincial Office.
During the operation, authorities seized one sachet of suspected shabu used as a buy-bust item and four additional sachets found in the suspect’s possession, totaling 0.46 grams with an estimated street value of P3,128. Additionally, a marked P1,000 bill used in the operation was recovered.
The suspect is currently held at the Villareal MPS and will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
