CAN-AVID, Eastern Samar – The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) conducted table skirting and computer literacy training sessions in Can-avid, Eastern Samar, on January 7, 2026, as part of Councilor Bienvenido “Jun” Siguan Jr.’s ongoing livelihood program.

This initiative aims to empower residents with valuable skills that can enhance their employment opportunities and improve their overall quality of life.

The training programs have several key benefits:

  • The skills acquired by the beneficiaries are not only valuable for employment but can also be utilized for personal projects and household needs, increasing self-sufficiency.
  • Individuals gain confidence in their newly acquired skills, empowering them to pursue new opportunities and contribute to their communities.
  • Can-avid will become known as a municipality with a high rate of skilled workers in Eastern Samar, attracting potential employers and creating opportunities for residents.

Councilor Siguan envisions a future where Can-avid is the first place people think of when they need skilled workers. This is made possible through the unwavering support of Mayor Alicia Teves and Vice Mayor Wilfredo ‘Modoy’ Busa.

This initiative is a priority year-round LGU program for skills development in Can-avid, Eastern Samar, implemented in partnership with TESDA. The LGU and TESDA believe that investing in skills development is essential to building a stronger and more prosperous community.
