Eastern Samar Provincial Government Boosts EVRAA Funding by 69.57% Under Governor Evardone’s Leadership

EASTERN SAMAR — The provincial government of Eastern Samar, under the leadership of Governor RV Evardone, has demonstrated its strong commitment to sports development by significantly increasing the funding allocation for the Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association (EVRAA) Meet 2026.

Compared to the approximately P9.2 million spent during EVRAA 2025, this year’s allocation has been boosted by 69.57%, reaching a total of P15.6 million. This substantial increase underscores the Evardone administration’s dedication to providing ample resources for the province’s young athletes.

The P15.6 million allocation will directly benefit the Eastern Samar Division and will cover essential needs such as:

• Shoes and uniforms for participating athletes and coaches (including jackets, caps, shorts, upper and lower garments, t-shirts, and hooded jackets).
• Transportation through van rentals.
• Meals for all delegates.
• Support for the health and nutrition unit, including tumblers, hygiene kits, medicine, vitamins, and medical first aid kits.

This funding will support the Eastern Samar Division in its preparations for EVRAA 2026, themed “Lihok Rehiyon Otso: Isang Puso, Isang Laban, Isang Tagumpay” (Move Region Eight: One Heart, One Fight, One Victory), which will be officially held from March 1-7, 2026, in Baybay City, Leyte.

The Eastern Samar Division-One Esti Valiant Hawks delegation comprises a total of 835 individuals, including 565 athletes, 170 coaches, assistant coaches, and chaperones, 105 officials and technical working group members, and 48 trainers who will proudly represent the province.

Through this significant increase in funding, the provincial government, under Governor Evardone’s leadership, is demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the welfare, health, and morale of its athletes as they represent Eastern Samar in the regional competition.

The province hopes that the One Esti Valiant Hawks will bring honor and inspiration to all Eastern Samareños by exhibiting discipline, unity, and sportsmanship in their pursuit of victory at EVRAA 2026.
