Basey was presented with the Highly Functional Anti-Drug Abuse Council Award, the Highly Functional Peace and Order Council Award, and the Local Governance Champion Award.
The RAYHAK Awards celebrate exceptional local government units in Eastern Visayas for their excellence in governance and public service. DILG officials commended Basey for its effective implementation of programs and policies throughout the year.
Local officials attributed this success to the collaborative efforts of the municipal government, led by the Sangguniang Bayan under Vice Mayor Honesto Zeta, in partnership with Municipal Local Government Operations Officer Zino Llarinas, barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan officials, and municipal department heads and staff.
The Local Governance Champion Award recognized Basey’s initiatives that surpassed standard performance indicators and delivered tangible results at the community level.

Through close coordination with partner agencies such as the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Special Action Force, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Philippine Coast Guard, and the Department of Education, the local government contributed to maintaining peace and stability in the area.
