TACLOBAN CITY — Last night, on March 27, US Army personnel arrived at Tacloban DZR Airport via a US Air Force C-17 aircraft for the Philippine-US Balikatan 2026. The annual exercise is aimed at bolstering cooperation and disaster response readiness in the region.
The Balikatan drills encompass disaster response simulations, humanitarian aid missions, and other activities geared towards enhancing the efficiency and timeliness of disaster response efforts in Eastern Visayas.
Balikatan serves as a yearly initiative that strengthens the partnership and coordination between the Philippine and US military forces, with a focus on readiness, security, and swift crisis response.
