CATBALOGAN CITY, Samar — Two siblings were apprehended in a buy-bust operation conducted by the police in Purok 1A, Barangay Mercedes, Casantolan at 1:41 PM on March 29, 2026.
The suspects were identified as alias “Biboy,” 23 years old, married, a rider listed as a High-Value Individual (HVI), and alias “Jojo,” 28 years old, unmarried, a construction worker, both residents of Purok 1A, Brgy. Mercedes, Casantolan, Catbalogan City.
The operation was carried out by the Catbalogan CPS-SDET under the leadership of PCpt. Andres Samantila Jr. II, Deputy Chief of Police, and under the command of PLtCol. Norman D. Ala, Acting Chief, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and PDEA RO8.
Recovered from alias Biboy were four packets of suspected shabu (possession) and one sachet of alleged shabu (buy-bust item). Alias Jojo was found with six packets of suspected shabu (possession) amounting to P5,644, weighing 0.83 grams, and the marked money used amounting to P500.
The suspects were taken to the Catbalogan Police Station along with the evidence for documentation and proper disposition.
The police continue to call on the public to help in the campaign against illegal drugs by providing information that will strengthen peace and security in the community.
