BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar — The Provincial Technical Education and Skills Development Committee (TESDC) gathered for its First-Quarter Meeting on March 26, 2026, with Governor Ralph Vincent “RV” Evardone leading discussions at Melinda’s Resort Function Room.
The assembly centered on key priorities and strategic plans to enhance the workforce development, boost employability rates, and ensure local training programs are tailored to meet the demands of today’s industries.
In his address, Governor Evardone stressed that skills training alone is not enough – the province must also guarantee viable employment opportunities for graduates of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) programs.
He outlined specific measures the provincial government plans to implement to strengthen Eastern Samar’s workforce through targeted skills development initiatives. A top priority highlighted was the introduction of post-TESDA assistance to complement existing scholarships provided by the agency.
This additional support will equip graduates with essential tools and resources needed to find and retain stable jobs following their training.
Joining the meeting were TESDA Eastern Samar Provincial Director Antonio Waniwan; Eastern Samar Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Conrad Uy; Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Eastern Samar Business Development Division Chief Gwen Ponferrada; and administrators from TESDA-accredited schools across the province.
