CAN-AVID, Eastern Samar — The Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 8 officially handed over four upgraded Brahman cattle to Eastern Samar province on Wednesday, marking a significant step forward in strengthening the region’s livestock sector.
Governor Ralph Vincent “RV” Evardone received the cattle, together with Provincial Veterinary Office representative Dr. Melanie Osita, during a ceremony held at the Provincial Breeding Station in Can-avid.
The donation forms part of DA Region 8’s initiative to enhance the province’s livestock industry and improve the quality of local cattle breeds. According to DA officials, the Brahman cattle will serve as a core breeding resource to increase cattle production and uplift the livelihoods of local farmers across Eastern Samar.
Governor Evardone committed to developing infrastructure and facilities at the breeding station to ensure operations run more efficiently and effectively, maximizing the impact of the DA’s support.
Also in attendance were key personnel from the Provincial Veterinary Office and representatives from DA Region 8, who joined in affirming their shared commitment to advancing Eastern Samar’s agricultural sector.
