CATARMAN, NORTHERN SAMAR — In a season defined by light, hope, and unity, the people of Northern Samar once again proved that the true brilliance of Christmas does not come from extravagant displays but from the collective heart of the community. This year’s Karibhungan sa Pasko shone brighter than ever—an annual tradition that has evolved into a proud symbol of bayanihan and shared identity.

For the past two years, visitors entering the provincial grounds have been greeted by the majestic giant Ibabao Christmas tree, a towering masterpiece designed and built by the young and skilled engineers and architects of the Provincial General Service Office (PGSO). Every shimmering ornament tells a story, crafted with care by persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Dancalan Jail—reminding all that Christmas is also a season of second chances, healing, and dignity.

Across the vibrant Christmas village, booths from participating national and provincial government agencies burst with color and creativity. Each display was lovingly built by employees who poured in not only their talent but also their personal time and resources. Their goal: to bring the warmth and wonder of Christmas villages—usually found in big cities—to their fellow Nortehanons, right at home.

The result was nothing short of magical.

More than decorations, Karibhungan sa Pasko became a living testament to what Northern Samar stands for: unity, creativity, and resilience. It showcased what happens when communities, government workers, and everyday citizens come together with a shared purpose. The festival was not merely seen—it was felt. The sense of pride, joy, and connection reverberated with every smiling face that walked through the displays.

Governor Harris Ongchuan’s administration is all about fostering a spirit of collaboration, making sure that every Norte Samarnon—whether young or old—can join in a celebration that truly reflects who they are and what they aspire to be. With the Governor’s heartfelt message, “Para ini sa iyo ngatanan!”, this year’s festivities were dedicated to everyone who calls Northern Samar their home.

A huge thank you goes out to all the hands that built, designed, and dreamed together; the Provincial Government is deeply grateful for your efforts.
Your passion is what made Karibhungan sa Pasko 2025 shine so brightly.

As the photos from the event reveal, the festival was more than just a show—it was a vibrant community coming together to embrace the true spirit of Christmas: pagkahiusa, paglaum, ngan pagigugma. In Northern Samar, these values truly shine when shared.

This Christmas, the people of Northern Samar remind the nation of a simple yet powerful truth: when we unite, we all shine brighter together.
