EASTERN SAMAR — In response to the continuing threat posed by the shear line affecting the region, Governor RV Evardone has ordered the suspension of classes in all public and private schools at all levels throughout the entire province of Eastern Samar for January 5, 2026.
The decision to suspend classes was made as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety and well-being of students and teachers, given the increased risk of flooding, landslides, and other hazards associated with the persistent heavy rainfall.
Governor Evardone is urging all residents of Eastern Samar to remain vigilant, monitor weather updates from reliable sources, and take necessary precautions to protect themselves and their families. Local government units are also instructed to be on alert and ready to respond to any emergencies that may arise.
