More than 100 Motiong residents receive livelihood aid from DOLE

MOTIONG, Samar — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the local government of Motiong in Samar continue to work together in providing livelihood assistance to residents in the town.

On May 22, DOLE distributed more than P3 million worth of livelihood assistance to 103 beneficiaries in Motiong under the Graduation Approach of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (GA-DILP).

The assistance included tools, jigs, and equipment for small businesses such as eateries, bakeries, street food vending, sari-sari stores, beauty care services, tailoring, and carpentry.

DOLE Samar field office head Aleksei Ceasar Abellar said the program also includes skills training, business management seminars, and access to social insurance programs.

“The GA-DILP provides a more comprehensive approach to livelihood assistance by combining livelihood grants with skills enhancement, business management training, and access to social insurance programs,” Abellar said in a statement.

Motiong Mayor Rene Anthony Cabael thanked DOLE for helping residents start or improve their livelihoods.

He said the assistance would help many families in the town earn additional income and support their daily needs.

The Graduation Approach under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program is aimed at helping poor and vulnerable workers improve their source of income through livelihood support and training.
