Borongan City, Eastern Samar — As the Province of Eastern Samar marks its 61st Founding Anniversary, the much‑anticipated Tabu‑an ha Este Tourism Agritrade Fair officially opened today at the Capitol Grounds – kicking off one of the anniversary’s centerpiece celebrations honoring the province’s local farmers, artisans, and homegrown industries.
Running daily from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. until November 8, the fair transforms the Capitol grounds into a vibrant marketplace showcasing a rich selection of regional offerings: fresh agricultural produce, handcrafted souvenirs, and assorted local goods coming from municipalities and cities across Eastern Samar.
For Governor RV Evardone, the fair is far more than just an anniversary activity. “This celebration is not merely a milestone for provincial government, but first and foremost for our people – especially our farmers and local artisans behind every product displayed here,” he said. He added that the fair stands as living proof of the strong partnership between the government and communities working hand‑in‑hand to strengthen Eastern Samar’s agritourism sector.
The event was made possible through the collective support of the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Trade and Industry, together with the different municipal and city local government units all over Eastern Samar, joining forces to ensure that this anniversary agritrade fair becomes a resounding success.
