BAYBAY CITY, Leyte — A driver was injured when a vehicle overturned in Barangay Hilapnitan, Baybay City, around 11:00 a.m. on April 7. The driver, known as “Jun,” 39, was accompanied by his siblings Luz, 27, and Roldan, 45, all from Ormoc City.
According to the Baybay City Police Station Sub-Station 2 investigation, the overturned vehicle was a private one carrying tuba, a type of coconut wine. The group was on its way from Ormoc City to Hilongos, Leyte, for a delivery.
Police Staff Sergeant Kent Russel M. Indolos, the traffic investigator, mentioned in an interview that a tire blowout caused the vehicle to flip over.
The tuba cargo was scattered on the road due to the incident.
Fortunately, no other drivers were involved in the accident, and only the driver sustained injuries, while his companions were unharmed.
