NAVAL, Biliran — Three passengers escaped unscathed after a vehicle plunged and flipped over in Barangay Villa Consuelo, Naval, Biliran around 11:00 a.m. on April 7.
The Naval Municipal Police Station (MPS) reported that the vehicle involved was a service multicab owned by a telecommunications company, en route to Caibiran for an inspection.
In an interview, Police Major Sherwin Amando L. Machete, Chief of Police of Naval MPS, stated that the incident took place in an elevated area locally referred to as “Little Baguio.”
The driver, known only as “John,” was accompanied by two other passengers at the time of the accident.
According to the driver’s statement, he may have momentarily dozed off while driving, leading to the loss of control and the vehicle swerving off the road.
The vehicle reportedly tumbled into a ravine approximately 15 steps deep.
All three occupants were successfully rescued, and remarkably, none of them sustained any injuries. The vehicle was the only casualty in the mishap.
Authorities also indicated that the driver might have been fatigued, having traveled from Tacloban City before the incident.
