DOLORES, Eastern Samar – The provincial government of Eastern Samar, through the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), partnered with the Land Transportation Office (LTO) Dolores to conduct a free two-day theoretical driving course and orientation on April 27-28 at the Municipal Gymnasium in Brgy. 10, Dolores.

The program included orientation sessions and examinations, with LTO Dolores District Head Gavino Anacio leading the initiative alongside LTO instructors who guided participants through the course content. During the sessions, instructors emphasized that a driver’s license is not a right but a privilege granted to motorists, and that the knowledge gained would help promote better understanding of traffic laws and safer driving practices.

The initiative was launched as part of the provincial government’s effort to encourage more residents to obtain proper licenses and educate motorists on traffic regulations, safe driving techniques, and basic vehicle maintenance.

Participants who pass the examination will receive a certificate from the LTO – a requirement for applying for a student driver’s license.

The course drew 219 participants from northern municipalities of Eastern Samar, with registrants coming from Taft (13), Can-Avid (26), Dolores (80), Maslog (16), Oras (63), and San Policarpo (21). Registration was done online and promoted through social media by PESO Eastern Samar in the weeks leading up to the event.
