TACLOBAN CITY — A suspected drug personality was apprehended by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) of the Tacloban City Police Office in a hotel in Barangay 95, Caibaan, Tacloban City, on May 12, 2026, during an anti-illegal drug operation.
The suspect, known as alias “Brando,” is a 39-year-old single resident of Barangay 95, Caibaan, Tacloban City, who is currently unemployed.
Following information about the suspect’s alleged involvement in illegal drug activities, authorities conducted a buy-bust operation. An undercover officer successfully purchased one sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect, leading to his immediate arrest.
Seized during the operation were five sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately six grams, valued at P40,800, and one pack of dried marijuana leaves worth P500.
Additionally, authorities recovered a marked P500 bill with serial number AK4148004, three pieces of P1,000 boodle money, and a black coin purse believed to be used for storing illegal drugs.
The suspect is set to face charges for violating Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs) under Article II of Republic Act No. 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Currently detained at the Tacloban City Police Office, the suspect will undergo formal charges.
Police urge the public to remain vigilant and report any illegal drug activities to help uphold peace and order in Tacloban City.
