BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar — Senator Bam Aquino visited Libuton Elementary School in Borongan City, where he inspected current facilities and expressed commitment to supporting improvements that will enhance learning conditions for students in the city on May 15.
The senator was welcomed by a delegation led by Governor RV Evardone, along with Congressman Sheen P. Gonzales, Congressman Nonoy Libanan, provincial board members, city officials, barangay leaders of Libuton, school teachers, and representatives from the Schools Division of Borongan City.
During his tour of the school, Aquino checked the condition of classrooms, learning areas, and other facilities, noting the need for upgrades to ensure students have a safe and conducive environment for learning. He emphasized that investing in education infrastructure is a key priority for building stronger communities and equipping young people with the tools they need to succeed.
“Our schools are the foundation of our nation’s future – we must make sure every student has access to quality facilities that support their growth,” Aquino stated during his visit.
School officials shared that the campus currently has seven classrooms serving hundreds of students from the area. A new one-story, two-classroom building is already being planned to address growing enrollment and ease overcrowding in existing rooms.
Aquino announced that his office will work with the provincial government, city officials, and the Department of Education to secure funding and support for the construction project and other facility improvements. He also pledged to advocate for programs that provide teaching resources and training for educators in the city.
“Every child in Borongan City deserves the best start in life, and that begins with having a place where they can learn comfortably and safely,” Aquino said.
