Abuyog Police Arrest Man in Anti-Drug Operation

ABUYOG, Leyte — A man was arrested after police recovered suspected shabu during a drug operation conducted in Barangay Victory, Abuyog, Leyte, on July 4, 2026.

The suspect was identified as alias “Jaja,” a jobless resident of the barangay.

Personnel from the Drug Enforcement Unit and Abuyog Municipal Police Station carried out the operation at around 4:23 p.m. under the leadership of PMAJ. Luis B. Hatton.

Police recovered 0.8 grams of suspected shabu from the suspect, with an estimated street value of ₱5,440, according to authorities.

The arrest was part of the continuing efforts of local police to address illegal drug activities and maintain peace and order in Abuyog, a municipality in Leyte.

Abuyog police continue to conduct monitoring and enforcement operations against individuals involved in illegal drug activities in different communities.

The suspect is currently under police custody and will face charges for alleged violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
