Dolores, Eastern Samar (December 3, 2025) – Congressman Sheen Gonzales recently visited Dolores, Eastern Samar, to meet with Mayor Zaldy Carpeso, Philippine Coast Guard Commander Eastern Visayas Captain Jonathan C. Marfil and PCG Commanding Officer CGETDC Installation SERVICES Capt. Terence R. Alsosa to discuss plans for a regional training center for the PCG in Region 8. This initiative is championed by Congressman Nonoy Libanan of the 4Ps Partylist.
During the meeting, Congressman Gonzales affirmed his strong support for establishing the training center. He pledged to assist in securing the necessary facilities and ensure proper coordination for its construction.
“I fully support this initiative because its benefits are clear: more job opportunities, a vibrant local economy, and a stronger economy for Dolores and all of Eastern Samar,” stated Congressman Gonzales.
Accompanied by PCG officers and Vice Mayor Nino Carpeso, Congressman Gonzales personally inspected the proposed site for the training center. He emphasized that the project is about more than just constructing a facility.
“This is also about serving the dreams of young Estehanons who aspire to serve our country as members of the uniformed personnel,” Gonzales added. “This is one way of securing opportunities and providing a wide range of services for the progress of Eastern Samar.”
The PCG regional training center is expected to boost the local economy, create jobs, and provide valuable training opportunities for residents of Eastern Samar and the wider region. Congressman Gonzales’s support for this project underscores his commitment to fostering economic growth and empowering the people of Eastern Samar.
