Can-avid, Eastern Samar — The Municipality of Can-avid has been recognized for its excellence in local governance, receiving a suite of prestigious awards at the RAYHAK 2025: Celebrating Good Local Governance ceremony held on January 27, 2026, at the People’s Center in Tacloban City. These honors highlight Can-avid’s dedication to transparency, safety, and dedicated public service.
Can-avid proudly received the 2025 Regional Seal of Good Local Governance Champion (RSGLGC) Award, solidifying its position as a leader in integrity within Eastern Samar.
The municipality’s commitment to safety was further validated with two distinctions, both earning a rating of HIGH Functionality: the Peace and Order Council (POC) Functionality Award and the Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Functionality Award. These accolades reflect the hard work of local officials and law enforcement in fostering a secure environment for all residents. Municipal Mayor Alicia Teves and MLGOO Janet B. Gardiola accepted the awards on behalf of Can-avid.
The excellence of Can-avid also extends to the barangay level. Barangay Camantang was named 1st Runner Up in the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentive Awards (LTIA), recognizing its effective and peaceful resolution of local disputes. Mayor Alicia Teves, MLGOO Janet B. Gardiola, ABC/PB Hon. Cerilo Leguin, and Barangay Secretary Mark Joseph Ramirez accepted the award.
These awards are a testament to the dedication of the men and women of the LGU and barangay leaders. They represent a commitment to continue serving Can-avid with the highest standards of excellence.
