Oras, Eastern Samar — Farmers in seven barangays in Oras, Eastern Samar, celebrated the official opening of new farm-to-market roads on February 12, 2026. The upgraded infrastructure aims to enhance agricultural productivity and improve market access for local farmers.
The turnover ceremony was attended by Lone District Congressman Sheen P. Gonzales, DAR Region 8 Director Atty. Robert Anthony Yu, Oras Mayor Roy C. Ador, and other officials from the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) and the Local Government Unit (LGU).
This joint project was made possible through the collaboration of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), House Minority Leader and 4PS Partylist Representative Congressman Nonoy Libanan, DAR Secretary Conrad Estrella III, and the Oras Local Government.
The new FMR projects encompass the following routes:
– Brgy. Alangalang to Minap-os
– Brgy. Alangalang to Cadian
– Brgy. Iwayan to Minap-os
– Brgy. Nadacpan to Saurong
– Brgy. Saurong to Agsam
– Brgy. Agsam to Iwayan
– Brgy. San Eduardo to Nadacpan
These roads will facilitate quicker and more efficient transportation of agricultural produce to markets, reducing travel time, minimizing post-harvest losses, and increasing profitability for local farmers.
