Dagami, Leyte — A 41-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bayabas here Thursday afternoon of August 27.
The operation was carried out by the Dagami Municipal Police Station (MPS) with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office 8 (PDEA-8).
Police Capt. Jose Bayona, chief of the Dagami MPS, led the operation.
The suspect, who was identified by police as alias “Tarak,” was arrested at about 5:18 p.m. He is unemployed and lives in Barangay Bayabas. Police had listed him as a street-level drug personality in the town.
Police said they recovered two sachets of suspected shabu and the buy-bust money from the operation.
The suspect was informed of the reason for his arrest and his constitutional rights in a language he understood.
He was taken to the Dagami MPS, where he was placed under police custody for proper disposition.
A case for violation of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, as amended by Republic Act No. 10640, will be filed against him.
