BORONGAN CITY, Eastern Samar — Acting City Mayor Emman Tiu Sonco took a proactive approach to addressing the ongoing flooding situation in Borongan City by personally inspecting flood-prone barangays and coordinating relief efforts.
Amidst the heavy rains and rising water levels, Acting Mayor Sonco visited various barangays to assess the impact of the flooding firsthand and provide reassurance to affected residents. He ensured assistance would be provided to them and a long-term solution.
Acting Mayor Sonco also coordinated with Lt. Col. Rizza Mea San Agustin of the Engineering Battalion to address a landslide that occurred along Benowangan Road, a critical thoroughfare in the city. He also asked for additional equipment and personnel.
In addition to the on-site inspections, Acting Mayor Sonco also focused on the condition of neighboring barangays and the evacuees affected by the flooding, ensuring that they receive adequate support and resources.
The Acting Mayor’s hands-on approach reflects the Borongan City Government’s commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of its citizens during this challenging time.
