EASTERN SAMAR — The Eastern Samar secondary basketball team made the province proud by winning the silver medal in the basketball finals of the Eastern Visayas Regional Athletic Association Meet 2026 in Baybay City.
The team’s impressive performance throughout the regional tournament led them to the championship game where the finished as the runner-up.
Head coach Roy Antonie Guirera praised the players for their determination, discipline, and teamwork, which propelled them to the finals and secured the silver medal for Eastern Samar.
Guirera commended the team for their strong effort in every game, emphasizing that achieving the silver medal in the regional meet was a significant accomplishment for the province.
The Eastern Samar cagers showcased solid defensive skills and a fast-paced offense that garnered support and cheers from fans and spectators in Baybay City.
Guirera extended his congratulations to the players for their outstanding performance, noting that their success brings honor to Eastern Samar and serves as motivation for aspiring young athletes in the province.
