Tacloban City – More than 50 families were affected after a fire destroyed over 20 houses in Barangay 42-A Quarry District on Thursday morning, November 5.
The blaze affected 52 families, or around 226 individuals, many of whom lost their homes and personal belongings and now face the difficult task of starting over.
Initial relief assistance was extended to the affected residents through the offices of Councilor Marty Romualdez, Leyte 1st District Rep. Martin Romualdez, and Tingog Party-list following the incident.
The immediate arrival of assistance provided some relief to families as they began dealing with the aftermath of the fire.
Some residents expressed gratitude for the support and the prompt response of the offices that extended help.
Councilor Romualdez assured the affected families that efforts would continue to provide assistance, particularly to those who need it most.
However, the families still face the challenge of rebuilding their lives after the fire. Beyond the initial relief assistance, they will need continued support, particularly in finding temporary shelter and meeting their basic needs.
